This Child is my Hero

• (I work in a Coffee Shop. I was on break in the lobby when a couple walks in. Directly behind them is a cute little boy in Batman costume.)
• Me: “Oh my God! It’s BATMAN!”
• (The boy stops, strikes a pose and starts looking around menacingly. After a few seconds, he approaches the counter.)
• Mother: “Jeff, would you like a chocolate milk?”
• Boy: “I am not Jeff. I am The Batman.”
• Mother: “The Batman, would you like a chocolate milk?”
• Boy: “Yes. Yes, The Batman would.”
• (The couple pays while the boy sits down with his chocolate milk. He keeps a stern look on his face as he sips the drink.)
• Boy: *sips* “Gotham is safe.”

• Thor: "He was wicked, and he was rancid, and he was evil. He lied and cheated, stole and betrayed. He shattered our kingdom. Loki is what troubles me, Sif. Loki."
• Thor: "A bad end to a bad soul. And surely we are all better off for his absence. That someone so wicked was let loose for so long...and yet that wasn't always the way. He made me laugh like no one else alive, Sif. His charm, his cleverness...we hunted together, as boys. I was never happier. I miss my brother, beloved. I miss my brother."
• Thor: "All this loss wouldn't be so bad to bear, were I granted someone to bear it with. Someone of my blood, of my flesh. I miss my brother. I think I shall bring him back.
